Microsoft to become a indie film distributor.

Basically Microsoft has decided to use their ability of streaming music to their own advantage. (click here to read the article)
I’m guessing that after seeing the success that Netflix and hulu has as film distributors, it dawned to them that maybe it could work for them. They will be providing a more direct form of distribution for independent filmmakers. It has been stated that the prices will range from $14.99 for a regular DVD and $17.99 for a blue ray DVD.
In my personal opinion I believe that this is a really good move for the xbox to do. They have done a really good strategy we help indie filmmakers distribute there films to all of their users and they can make a juicy profit. But the also pay attention to the fact they will now be competing with companies like Apple, with their apple TV. Their prices in comparison with iTunes are very dramatic and very good for people who really enjoy indie films. I truly enjoy indie movies and this is something I am really going to be looking forward to. This also helps filmmakers with not only distribution of their films but also help them with marketing.
